These terms govern your use of storedetector.com, the Store Detector Chrome extension, our data API, and the store rankings we publish (together, "Store Detector"). By installing the extension or using the site, you agree to them. They're written in plain English and will evolve as the product grows; material changes will be posted here with a new date.

1. Who provides Store Detector

Store Detector is operated from New Mexico, USA, by the team behind AI Systems Club™. Premium features are offered as part of an AI Systems Club membership; how your data is handled is described in our Privacy Policy.

2. What Store Detector is

Store Detector is a competitive-intelligence tool for Shopify stores. The Chrome extension analyzes the public storefronts you visit and shows traffic, estimated revenue, ads, installed apps, theme, and SEO signals. This website publishes rankings of the biggest Shopify stores by country and category, built from that same dataset.

3. The data and estimates

• All figures — traffic, revenue, ad counts, follower numbers, rankings — are modeled estimates derived from third-party and public sources. They are provided "as is" for research and comparison, and are not guaranteed to be accurate, complete, or current.
• Store Detector reports on public information about merchant storefronts — the same information any visitor to that store can see. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the stores we analyze, Shopify, or any data provider named in our Privacy Policy.
• Do not rely on our estimates as the sole basis for financial, investment, or business decisions. Nothing here is financial, legal, or tax advice.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• scrape, bulk-download, or resell the rankings, the API, or the underlying dataset, or build a competing database from them;
• overload, probe, or attempt to circumvent access controls on the site, the extension, or the backend API;
• use Store Detector to harass a merchant or to break any law or third-party terms;
• misrepresent our estimates as official figures of the stores concerned, or remove attribution when sharing our data.

The public JSON endpoints under /api/ are offered for reasonable, good-faith use; we may rate-limit or withdraw access that degrades the service for others.

5. Subscriptions & billing

The extension's core detection is free to install and use. Some features are part of a paid plan. When paid plans are offered, the plan, price, billing interval, and any free trial are shown at checkout before you confirm, and billing is handled by Stripe. If a plan includes a free trial, you can cancel before it ends and you won't be charged.

Money-back guarantee. If you're not satisfied with a paid plan, contact us and we'll refund it — no questions asked. Cancel anytime; you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for, and you won't be billed again. Cancellation and refund requests go to ceo@marcdomancie.com.

6. Intellectual property

The Store Detector name, logo, website, extension, and the compiled dataset and rankings are owned by Store Detector. You may reference and link to our published rankings with attribution to storedetector.com. You may not copy the site's design or claim our data as your own product.

7. Third-party stores, links, and providers

Store Detector links out to merchant storefronts and relies on third-party data providers (listed in our Privacy Policy). We don't control those sites or services and aren't responsible for their content, availability, or accuracy.

8. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

Store Detector is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Store Detector is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any business decision made in reliance on our estimates. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date; continued use after a change means you accept it.
