What is Store Detector?
Store Detector is a free Chrome extension that opens a research sidebar on any Shopify store — showing traffic, estimated revenue, live Facebook ads, installed apps, theme, best sellers and SEO health.
How do I analyze a Shopify store?
Install the extension, visit any Shopify store, and click the Store Detector icon. The sidebar loads everything automatically — no copy-pasting URLs into other tools.
Is Store Detector free?
Yes. The extension is free to install and use on any Shopify store, with no account. A free account adds 10 credits a week in the dashboard and in Claude or ChatGPT. Pro adds 15,000 credits a month, competitors, top markets, traffic sources and top keywords.
How much does Pro cost?
Pro is $4.99/month billed yearly ($59.88 a year), or $9.99 billed monthly. That is the launch price for the first 100 members. After them Pro goes up to $14.99/month billed yearly or $29 monthly, then $24.99 yearly or $49 monthly. Members keep the price they joined at while they stay subscribed. There is no free trial, but the free plan has no time limit.
Can I search stores without the extension?
Yes. The dashboard at app.storedetector.com lets you search and filter 324,326 Shopify stores by country, niche, apps, theme and traffic, on any device. A free account shows the top 25 results of each search.
How accurate are the revenue estimates?
Revenue is modeled from real traffic data and category conversion benchmarks across the 324,326 stores in our dataset. Estimates are directional — great for comparing stores, not accounting data.
Does it work on any website?
It detects Shopify automatically, including stores on custom domains and headless setups. If a site runs Shopify, Store Detector will find it.
How does sign-in work, and what data do you use?
The extension works without an account. In the extension you sign in with your email address and a one-time code, with no password. On the Store Detector MCP server and the dashboard you can sign in with Google: we ask only for the openid, email and profile scopes and receive your email address and Google account ID. We use them for one purpose: to identify your account, link it to your subscription and count your credits. We get no Google refresh token, we never read Gmail, Drive, Calendar, photos or contacts, and we do not sell or share your data. See our Privacy Policy and Terms.
