What is the most used Shopify app?

How is app usage measured?

Every store in the index is checked for the public script and asset signatures each app ships on a storefront. These are detection counts, not Shopify's own install numbers: an app that leaves no front-end trace will be undercounted, and a store that installed an app but never rendered it will not be counted at all.

Why are some apps missing?

Two reasons. An app needs at least 25 detected stores to get a page — below that the breakdowns would be noise rather than data. And an app needs a Shopify App Store listing, because the listing is what the page's URL and outbound link are built from.
