Marketing ROI calculator
This free ROI calculator tells you how hard your marketing dollars are working. Enter what you invested (ad spend or total cost) and the revenue it produced to see your return on investment as a percentage, your net profit, and your ROAS — updated live as you type.
ROI = (revenue − cost) ÷ cost × 100. A positive number means you earned more than you spent. To pressure-test a campaign before you scale it, pair this with the Break-Even ROAS calculator and the profit margin calculator so ad ROI reflects your real per-order economics, not just top-line revenue.
Frequently asked questions
How do you calculate ROI?
ROI = (revenue − cost) ÷ cost × 100. It shows how much profit you made relative to what you spent, as a percentage.
What is a good ROI for ecommerce ads?
Any positive ROI means you made money on paper. Many DTC brands target 100%+ ROI (a 2× return) on ad spend once product and fulfillment costs are covered.
What is the difference between ROI and ROAS?
ROAS = revenue ÷ ad spend (a ratio). ROI = (revenue − cost) ÷ cost × 100 (a percentage). A ROAS of 3 equals a 200% ROI on the ad spend alone.
