3. Data Storage
Store Detector uses the Chrome Storage API to store non-personal, user-specific data such as session information and stored preferences. This data is stored locally on your browser and is not shared or accessed by third parties. If you uninstall the extension, this data will automatically be deleted.
4. Permissions and Data Access
To provide the functionality of the Store Detector extension, we request the following permissions:
- activeTab: To access the active tab and analyze the currently visited Shopify store.
- unlimitedStorage: To allow for large amounts of data to be temporarily stored without exceeding Chrome's storage limits.
- webRequest: To access HTTP headers of Shopify stores and extract relevant store information.
- offscreen: To enable background scraping of Shopify stores for store analysis.
- alarms: To schedule cache clearing and other periodic tasks to optimize extension performance.
- Host Access: We request access to Shopify store domains to provide users with detailed store analysis.
